Publix is a two-minute drive. Their seafood counter does crab-stuffed salmon pinwheels, which take about twelve minutes on the grill with asparagus alongside.
It has become our standing first-night dinner, and it beats waiting for a table on your travel day.
The outdoor kitchen setup
The covered lanai has a gas grill, shaded seating and an outdoor dining table, all under screen beside the heated saltwater pool.
The kitchen inside is fully stocked, so you can prep in air conditioning and cook out by the water.
Eating in on Marco Island
Cooking a few nights in is a real saving on a week-long trip, and the sunset from the pool deck is a better view than most restaurants have.
